CD Projekt RED publishes official PC requirements for The Witcher 3 Remastered
CD Projekt RED on August 29, 2026 published the official PC system requirements for The Witcher 3 Remastered via its Battle.net and Steam store listings. The developer also confirmed the remastered release will be a free upgrade for players who already own the base game.
CD Projekt RED describes the release as more than a graphical pass, citing overhauled environmental details, monster textures, foliage, lighting and animations. The studio says the remaster adds smoother movement and improved combat animations alongside a redesigned skill tree and transmog support. Expanded Photo Mode, reworked loot systems and improved quest tracking are also listed among the changes. These gameplay and interface updates are presented alongside the technical improvements.
On the technical side, the remaster will include support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4.0 and deliver improved HDR and subsurface scattering, according to the announcement. Additional rendering features named in the listings are ground-truth ambient occlusion, path tracing, ray reconstruction and ray-traced hair on supported PC configurations. The publisher frames these as part of the visual overhaul rather than a simple patch.
A promotional post from the developer highlighted specific animation and quality-of-life adjustments, listing "New meditation animations", "Loot herbs while mounted on Roach", "Dynamically mount Roach from farther away and from any angle" and "New mounting animations". The same post also stated "Runs at up to 90 FPS on PS5 Pro" and "Ray Tracing mode can run at 60 FPS…". Those lines appear in the store and promotional material accompanying the technical disclosure.
The published minimum PC requirements specify an Intel Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, a GTX 1660 or equivalent GPU, 12GB of RAM and a 70GB SSD. The store entries list both minimum and recommended specifications, with the minimum configuration spelled out in the official listings.
The announcement reiterates that players who already own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition will receive the remastered version at no additional cost. The publisher distributed the system specifications and feature list through its Battle.net and Steam pages and accompanying promotional material.
The Witcher 3 Remastered is scheduled to launch on September 29, 2026, and CD Projekt RED says the edition will be released across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2.
