Charley Hull equals LET low with 62 to move within one of Anna Huang at PIF London Championship

Charley Hull shot a bogey-free 62 at the Centurion Club on Friday to equal the Ladies European Tour's lowest round and move to within one stroke of Anna Huang's lead after round two of the PIF London Championship.

Hull, who turned professional at the age of 16 and is 30 years old, followed an opening 74 with an 11-under-par 62 that included an eagle at the first and nine birdies to finish on 10-under overall. Her score broke the Centurion Club course record set by Georgia Hall in 2021 and placed her alongside Haeran Ryu, Jessica Korda, Alison Lee and Karrie Webb as players who have recorded 11-under on the tour.

Hull said: "I have been so tired this week, exhausted from the last couple of weeks, especially after the AIG Women's Open last week. "I feel pretty tired and my body is in bits. I have got a few ongoing injuries, so I've been having a lot of physio. "I'm quite shocked that I've shot 11-under because I felt so tired this morning. It felt like the easiest 11-under of my life. I'm standing here right now feeling like I left a couple of shots out there and I want to go and see if I can improve it."

The English player has experienced a notable week off the course as well, having defended herself after a prank played on her caddie, and she arrived at the event having finished joint sixth at The Open after starting the final day in contention.

Seventeen-year-old Anna Huang leads the tournament on 11-under after rounds of 67 and 68, saying: "It was another good round, but it was a little bit more up-and-down than yesterday. I had a couple of bad mistakes here and there, but it's still something to be proud of." Wales' Lydia Hall is third on eight-under following a 67 in Hertfordshire.

The leaderboard after round two reads: -11 A Huang (Can); -10 C Hull (Eng); -8 L Hall (Wal); -7 K Bennett (Aus), A Donegan (Ire); -6 A Hewson (Eng), A van Dam (Ned), S Tan (Sin). Selected others include -4 E Young (Eng) and -2 C McGinty (Eng), C Gainer (Eng).

After 36 holes at the PIF London Championship, Anna Huang leads on 11-under, Charley Hull is second on 10-under and Lydia Hall sits third on eight-under.
