Chelsea will face Spanish side Real Sociedad in the Women's Champions League third qualifying round after Tuesday's draw at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

Chelsea forward Aggie Beever-Jones scored a hat-trick in the club's 7-0 friendly win over Auckland FC in New Zealand on Saturday. Chelsea finished third in the Women's Super League last season and are eight-time WSL champions. Real Sociedad ended their Liga F campaign in third place, 21 points behind league winners Barcelona.

Chelsea were seeded for the draw. They were beaten in the Champions League final by Barcelona in 2021.

Other third qualifying-round ties drawn on Tuesday pair Paris St-Germain with Eintracht Frankfurt, Real Madrid with Ajax, two-time winners Wolfsburg with Inter Milan, and Juventus with Austrian side St Polten.

WSL champions Manchester City and runners-up Arsenal have already qualified for the competition's league phase, alongside defending champions Barcelona.

The Blues will be at home for the first leg on 26 August, with the return fixture in Spain on 2 September; Chelsea will have to beat Sociedad in order to seal their spot in the competition's league phase.
