Chelsea will host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on October 24 in their matchweek 8 fixture of the Premier League 2026-27 season, with the Xabi Alonso-led side on a two-match winning run and Tottenham arriving off a league victory.

Chelsea recorded a 5-1 win over Bournemouth followed by a 2-0 victory against Everton, giving them four wins from their opening seven league games and a position in fourth place on the points table; being at home for this fixture is noted as an advantage. Robert De Zerbi’s men claimed their first league win of the season with a 3-1 result against Coventry City, a game in which Tottenham scored early and then held on to secure three points.

Portuguese winger Pedro Neto was a standout in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Everton, scoring a brace and causing problems down the right flank; he created the most chances (5) and had the most touches (5) in the opposition box. Pedro has been voted as the #PL's standout performer from last weekend.

James Maddison was Tottenham’s top performer in the 3-1 victory over Coventry City, scoring one of the goals and controlling the midfield during that match; Tottenham are described as still having a lot to figure out and will face the added challenge of playing away at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will be without Emiliano Martinez, Reece James and Jamie Gittens due to injury, while Pep Chavarria, Malo Gusto and Emanuel Emegha are not yet confirmed to be part of the squad. Tottenham will miss Savio, Wilson Odobert, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Xavi Simons and Pedro Porro through injury, and Destiny Udogie and Lucas Bergvall might also sit out due to fitness concerns.

Projected lineups listed are: Penders (GK); Acheampong, Lacroix, Colwill, Hato; Caicedo, Henderson; Neto, Palmer, Rogers; Pedro

Kinsky (GK); Van Hecke, Senesi, Van de Ven, Robertson; Tonali; Gray, Maddison; Kudus, Solanke, Marmoush

Prediction: Chelsea 3-1 Tottenham Hotspur. The match is scheduled for Stamford Bridge on October 24 and will be available in India on JioHotstar and the Star Sports Network.
