The Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings remained unbeaten after Week Four of the NFL season on Sunday, with two previously perfect starts ending during the day's slate that included one of this season's London games.

Only three teams are 4-0 after Sunday’s action, which began with the Indianapolis Colts defeating the Washington Commanders in the first of this season’s three London fixtures; the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams also recorded road wins to avoid 1-3 starts. Several early-season narratives shifted as divisional rivals met and form lines developed across the league.

Kansas City held off a resilient Las Vegas Raiders side to win 30-27 in a game featuring three fourth-quarter lead changes and a late turnover. The Raiders led 13-10 heading into the final quarter before Kenneth Walker scored two touchdowns in 19 seconds; Kansas City regained possession after a fumble on the kick-off return and sealed victory when Xavier Nwankpa intercepted Kirk Cousins’ final throw. Walker finished with 177 yards from 22 carries, while team-mate Tyquan Thornton had two touchdowns and 111 receiving yards.

The San Francisco 49ers beat the Denver Broncos 24-14 after a tight first half left the score 3-3; Christian McCaffrey’s fourth-quarter touchdown and a long catch-and-run by George Kittle secured the win despite a Jaylen Waddle response. Brock Purdy and Kirk Cousins lead the league with 11 touchdown passes, and Purdy has been intercepted only once and not sacked in the 49ers’ first four games.

The Minnesota Vikings produced a 15-10 victory over the Miami Dolphins, with Will Reichard converting five field goals to account for Minnesota’s points. The Vikings have ground-out results in multiple games this season, including a 9-3 Week Two win that also lacked a touchdown, a sequence noted in coverage of the club’s strong defensive performances.

Drake Maye recovered from a difficult start to the season by throwing three touchdowns for 269 yards as the New England Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills 29-26. After Josh Allen restored Buffalo’s lead with a 34-yard touchdown pass to Keon Coleman with four minutes left, Efton Chism produced a one-handed touchdown catch to put New England back in front and the Patriots intercepted a later Allen pass to clinch the win; Maye had entered the game having thrown six interceptions in his first three outings after eight picks in the 2025 regular season.

The Los Angeles Rams rallied to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-20 after trailing 20-10 at half-time; Kyren Williams rushed for two late touchdowns, and Puka Nacua finished with 125 receiving yards and a touchdown. Philadelphia were without DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dallas Goedert (knee) before the game and also lost Saquon Barkley to an early hamstring injury, and the Eagles will visit Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday to face the Jacksonville Jaguars, who beat the Cincinnati Bengals 22-17 for back-to-back wins. Other notable results included the Dallas Cowboys’ 34-30 win at Houston — CeeDee Lamb had a career-high 17 receptions for 189 yards and the game-winning touchdown after an 11-play, 74-yard drive, with Javonte Williams rushing for three touchdowns as Dallas improved to 2-2 — and the New York Giants’ 36-24 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in which Jameis Winston threw three touchdowns and two interceptions while filling in for Jaxson Dart; the Baltimore Ravens also won 24-18 over the Tennessee Titans despite Lamar Jackson being unable to play during the second half because of an ankle issue.

The Chiefs now travel to play the Los Angeles Chargers, who are 0-4 after losing 30-23 to the Seattle Seahawks; the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams are scheduled to meet in Los Angeles next week; and the Eagles are set to play the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
