FC Goa defeated Fortis FC 2-1 in an AFC Challenge League 2026-27 match on Tuesday, October 20, with Chiki scoring the decisive goal in the 85th minute; Jorge Ortiz had opened the scoring for Goa while Rafayel Tudu levelled for Fortis.

The Gaurs arrived in the fixture on the back of a loss to FC Regar TadAZ of Tajikistan in matchday one, and Fortis represented Bangladesh in the tie. Jorge Ortiz put Goa ahead in the sixth minute with a header, and the visitors were leading at halftime.

Goa began the game on the front foot, Muhammed Nemil firing wide during an early counter before Udanta Singh delivered a cross that found an unmarked Jorge Ortiz; Ortiz’s header was deflected in by Ananta Tamang for the opener. Ortiz then tested Fortis goalkeeper Sujan Perera again, shooting wide a minute after his goal and forcing a save in the 14th minute.

Set pieces also created chances for Goa, with Sandesh Jhingan steering a corner narrowly off the left post. Fortis threatened in the 36th minute when Pa Omar Babou’s long-range effort was kept out by Lara Sharma, and Essa Jallow saw a header from Babou’s cross blocked.

After the break, Goa pushed for a second goal as Francisco Feuillassier set up Jhingan for a header that Perera rushed out to clear in the 52nd minute. Perera then kept out a long-range attempt from Malsawmsanga KC in the 61st minute as Fortis continued to withstand Goa’s pressure.

Fortis levelled in the 78th minute when Stephen Chukwude released a through ball that Rafayel Tudu took in his stride before slotting past Lara Sharma. Goa responded shortly after, with Feuillassier cutting through the middle and feeding Chiki, who lifted his finish over Perera into the top-left corner in the 85th minute.

Discipline affected Fortis late on when Essa Jallow received a second yellow card for a foul on Udanta Singh and was sent off in the seventh minute of added time. FC Goa will meet Kuwait’s Qadsia SC next on Friday, while Fortis will host FC Regar TadAZ.
