Chiranth Vishwanath on pole in Super Sport 301-400cc Open at Madras International Circuit

Chiranth Vishwanath of Petronas TVS Racing claimed pole position in the Super Sport 301-400cc Open class at the Madras International Circuit on Friday during qualifying for the inaugural round of the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2W – 2026 (01:48.032). His Petronas TVS Racing teammate Sarthak Chavan completed the front row, taking the second grid slot.

Petronas TVS Racing’s pair provided a rousing start to the opening round, with the two riders showing the pace to occupy the top two positions on the grid. The qualifying sessions at the Madras International Circuit set the starting order for the categories contested on the day. The event report lists pole-sitters across multiple classes and one-make categories contested at the meeting.

In the Super Stock 301-400cc Open category, Kamal Navas of Team Rockers Racing took pole with a lap of (01:54.214), finishing ahead of the RACR Castrol Power1 riders Allwin Xavier and Kabilesh Rajini Krishnan. Kabilesh Rajini Krishnan is described in the report as 16 years old and the son of 11-time National champion Rajini Krishnan.

Former National women’s champion A.S. Ann Jennifer, representing Motul Sparks Racing, comfortably outpaced the field to secure pole in the Super Stock up to 165cc Intermediate class with a time of (02:06.970). Her performance was reported as the leading time for that intermediate category during qualifying.

In the novice categories, Faruk Ali Sohtun (Motul Sparks Racing) topped Stock up to 165cc (Novice) qualifying with a time of (02:09.825), while R. Ashwin (Pvt) led Stock 301-400cc (Novice) qualifying with a (02:01.515) lap. The Petronas TVS Racing One-Make Championship poles went to Kamal Navas in the Open (TVS Apache RR 310) with (01:55.387) and Poojitha Anil Kumar in the Women (TVS Apache RTR 200) class with (02:14.196).

These qualifying results establish the grids for the inaugural round of the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2W – 2026 at the Madras International Circuit and will determine the starting order for the races scheduled within this opening event.
