Clàudia Pina scored four goals as Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 7-0 at the Camp Nou in a Liga F match on Sunday, extending Barça’s lead at the top of the table to five points. The victory came in front of more than 40,000 spectators and kept Barcelona’s perfect start to the campaign intact.

The 25-year-old Spain international opened the scoring after four minutes with a neat finish following a run into the area, setting the tone for a one-sided clásico at the Camp Nou. The fixture was delayed by two hours because of torrential rain across Catalonia over the weekend. Barcelona entered the match as seven-time consecutive league winners and controlled possession for large periods against their rivals.

Pina doubled her tally in the 28th minute, a strike that began a flurry of goals in a short spell. Ewa Pajor had a shot blocked which Pina finished from the rebound, and she completed her hat-trick a few minutes later with a blast into the top corner.

Caroline Graham Hansen scored immediately after that sequence, skipping past a defender before slotting home, and Pina added a fourth before half-time with a strike inside the near post. The rapid scoring exposed persistent problems in Madrid’s defence throughout the opening 45 minutes.

Early in the second half Barcelona increased the margin when Polish forward Ewa Pajor converted a chance to make it five for Pere Romeu’s side. Three-time Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmatí was introduced for the final 30 minutes as she continued her return to full fitness following a broken leg. Swiss midfielder Sydney Schertenleib finished the rout late on with a long-range goal to complete the 7-0 scoreline.

Real Madrid have beaten Barcelona just once in 25 meetings between the clubs across all competitions. Madrid’s women’s team was established in 2020 after taking over CD Tacón.

The result leaves Barcelona five points clear at the summit of Liga F and preserves their perfect start to the season.
