Commonwealth Kabaddi Championship 2026 logo unveiled for Ahmedabad tournament

Organisers unveiled the official logo for the Commonwealth Kabaddi Championship 2026, which will be held from 23 to 31 October at the Veer Savarkar Stadium in Ahmedabad, India.
The tournament will feature 14 nations competing for the title and represents an inaugural edition that organisers say could pave the way for kabaddi’s inclusion in the Commonwealth Games, serving as a test case for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. Over the decades kabaddi has not become a medal sport at events such as the Commonwealth Games, and organisers framed the championship as a step toward that objective; the announcement was described as positive news for kabaddi fans across the country.
The logo shows a single raider, depicted in orange, attempting to break through four defenders depicted in blue, with "Amdavad 2026" written below the tournament name to indicate the host city.
India’s national team enters the event fresh from winning the gold medal at the Asian Games 2026 after defeating Iran in the final, a result the report said showcased their dominance in the sport.
The Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) has rested players from that gold-medal-winning squad to provide opportunities for others; the final squad has not been announced, but 17 probable players have been called into a practice camp and the final selection will depend on players’ performances during that camp.
Several major kabaddi nations, including Iran and Chinese Taipei, are not participating in the Commonwealth Kabaddi Championship 2026, and the coverage noted that fans will expect the Indian team to perform well and win another tournament while also acknowledging that an upset can happen on any given day.
Star Sports will be the official broadcaster for the Commonwealth Kabaddi Championship 2026, with live streaming available on the JioStar app and website for viewers who wish to follow the matches.
