The Hundred men’s competition, launched by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2021, has produced a sequence of champions culminating in Manchester Super Giants winning the 2026 title.

The Hundred was introduced by the ECB as a shorter-format competition featuring two innings of 100 balls each, staged with men’s and women’s double-headers. The format tracks the number of balls throughout each innings and was promoted as a fresh addition to the British summer sporting calendar. Its inaugural season in 2021 produced dramatic finishes that established the tournament’s profile.

Eight franchises contest the men’s competition: Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Manchester Super Giants, Trent Rockets, Welsh Fire, Sunrisers Leeds, MI London and Southern Brave.

The first final, held in 2021 at Lord’s, saw Southern Brave defeat Birmingham Phoenix by 32 runs to claim the inaugural men’s title.

Manchester Super Giants captured their first The Hundred trophy in 2026, securing a five-wicket victory over Trent Rockets in the decisive match.

Oval Invincibles (MI London) are the competition’s most successful side to date, having won three The Hundred titles.
