Cortes-Acosta vs Walker to headline UFC Fight Night at Meta Apex on Nov 7

Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Johnny Walker will headline UFC Fight Night at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas on November 7 after Sean Brady withdrew and Gabriel Bonfim was removed from the card. Brady pulled out of his scheduled fight citing a severe staph infection in his knee, prompting the promotion to name a new main event for the November 7 card.

Gabriel Bonfim and Sean Brady had been scheduled to meet in the original main event for this weekend’s Fight Night at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas. Brady withdrew from that bout because of a severe staph infection in his knee, and Bonfim was subsequently taken off the card when UFC announced the replacement headliner.

The new main event is a heavyweight bout between Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Johnny Walker. Cortes-Acosta enters the fight on a two-fight losing streak and, the promotion noted, needs a win to retain his sixth ranking in the division. Walker arrives having returned to the win column against Mick Parkin after a prior loss to Dominik Reyes.

The co-main event is a women’s strawweight contest pairing Tatiana Suarez with Virna Jandiroba. Both fighters are aiming to extend winning runs after previous attempts to capture the title fell short. Virna Jandiroba most recently challenged for the vacant strawweight title against Mackenzie Dern, with Dern earning a unanimous decision to become the new Champion. That title outcome is the referenced defeat that left Jandiroba seeking a return to winning form in Las Vegas.

The event will take place at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, with live coverage in the United States on Paramount+. The prelims will also be available on UFC Fight Pass, and in India the broadcast will be on Sony Sports Network with the Prelims scheduled for 2:30 AM IST and the Main Card for 5:30 AM IST.
