Couhaib Driouech at Ibrox ahead of expected Rangers transfer on Friday

Couhaib Driouech was at Ibrox to watch Rangers face Jagiellonia Bialystok and is expected to complete a transfer from PSV to Rangers on Friday.

The 24-year-old Moroccan winger, who predominantly operates on the left, scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 40 appearances for PSV last season. He was frequently used from the bench, starting once in PSV's eight Champions League outings and coming off the bench 24 times in the Eredivisie. Driouech spent three seasons with Excelsior before joining PSV in the summer of 2024.

Driouech came through the youth ranks at Heerenveen and made his professional debut with the club before moving to Excelsior, where he made 101 appearances and scored 16 goals. His performances at Excelsior led to his transfer to PSV.

Born in Haarlem, Driouech has represented Morocco at Under-23 level and was part of the Morocco squad that won the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations. He had the option to represent France and the Netherlands. Observers note his quick feet, speed, precise finishing and ability to play on both wings.

The deal would add to Rangers’ recruitment this summer as the club continue a significant squad overhaul; Driouech would follow Daisuke Yokota, who arrived from Hannover last week, as a winger signing. Chairman Andrew Cavenagh said on Monday he expected "three to five more players" while "a number will possibly go out", and midfielder Mohamed Diomande was sold to Turkish club Corum on Wednesday.

The transfer is expected to be completed on Friday. If finalised, Driouech will be Rangers' 10th summer arrival at Ibrox.
