Cristiano Ronaldo rated 84 in EA FC 27, lower than Lionel Messi's 89

Cristiano Ronaldo has been assigned an 84 overall rating in EA FC 27, EA Sports revealed on August 18, 2026, a figure that places him below Lionel Messi in the new ratings list.

The Portugal and Al Nassr forward drops one point from his EA FC 26 rating of 85, with EA Sports recording reductions across pace, passing, dribbling, defense and physical attributes; at 42 years old, Ronaldo still holds the highest-rated base card ever given to a 42-year-old player in the franchise’s history.

EA FC 27 lists Ronaldo’s attribute breakdown as 75 Pace, 88 Shooting, 75 Passing, 79 Dribbling, 33 Defense and 74 Physical alongside his 84 overall rating.

By contrast, Lionel Messi has received a +3 upgrade to an overall 89 in the same release, a change EA attributed to his recent performances at club level and at the FIFA World Cup.

The report notes that, despite the downgrade, Ronaldo “still remains a dominant striker in the game,” and that his age and recent form were factors cited in assessing the 84 overall score.
