CSA adds three T20Is to India's women's tour of South Africa

Cricket South Africa announced on Thursday, August 6, 2026, that it had revised the schedule of India's women's tour of South Africa to include three T20 Internationals in addition to a one-off Test and three One-Day Internationals.
Under the revised itinerary the one-off Test is set for December 9-12 and the ODI series runs from December 16-22. The T20I leg will take place between December 26 and 30, meaning the Indian team will spend an extra week in South Africa to accommodate the matches. The three T20Is are scheduled at Benoni and Potchefstroom, a change CSA said would help both sides prepare for the inaugural Women's Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka in February.
Pholetsi Moseki, the CSA CEO, addressed the schedule change in a statement: “We are delighted to confirm the revised schedule for India's tour of South Africa, with the addition of the T20 International series over the festive period, ensuring our Proteas Women have the best possible preparation ahead of the inaugural ICC Women's Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka early next year.”
Moseki added: “India remain one of the strongest teams in world cricket, and the opportunity to compete against them across all three formats will provide invaluable competition as we continue building towards another major ICC event.”
India previously toured South Africa in March-April this year for a T20I series which they lost 1-4. The sides also met at the T20 World Cup in England, where South Africa beat India to dent their chances of entering the semifinal.
The tour therefore now spans matches from the one-off Test beginning on December 9 through the concluding T20Is on December 30, with the teams set to refocus on the inaugural ICC Women's Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka in February.
