CSK in talks to acquire INR 13 crore Liam Livingstone; Khaleel Ahmed offered in trade

Chennai Super Kings are reportedly in discussions with Sunrisers Hyderabad to acquire England all-rounder Liam Livingstone ahead of the IPL 2027 auction, with reports on November 3, 2026 saying CSK may offer left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed in return.
CSK have won the Indian Premier League five times (2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, 2023) but failed to reach the playoffs in the last three editions, and made a high-profile trade last season when they acquired Sanju Samson from Rajasthan Royals in place of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran.
Livingstone, 33, joined Sunrisers Hyderabad last season for INR 13 crore and was part of the IPL-winning Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in 2024; he featured in two matches for SRH this past season and scored only 15 runs.
Across his IPL career, Livingstone has played 51 matches, scored 1066 runs at an average of 25.38 and taken 13 wickets; the report also notes his extensive international and franchise-level experience.
Cricbuzz reported that another franchise has expressed interest in Livingstone, that discussions remain at an early stage and that SRH are unsure; the coverage added: “The franchises are certainly discussing Livingstone and another player apart from Khaleel in CSK. Multiple players and multiple franchises are involved in the trade discussions, not just two, and nothing has been finalized.”
The last date to submit the retention list is on Tuesday, November 17, 2026; the trade window will close around one week before the auction and the IPL 2027 mini-auction is scheduled to be held in Goa on December 16.
