CWI chief says India tours bring no revenue to West Indies, blames 1997 ICC decision
Cricket West Indies CEO Chris Dehring criticised the bilateral revenue model on 16 October 2026, saying the board earns nothing when the team tours India.
He said series in India can generate $20–30 million while the board receives no income from them. Dehring traced the problem to a 1997 ICC decision allowing hosts to retain broadcasting revenue and blamed the system for West Indies’ financial struggles, which have led to player pay cuts and suspended domestic competitions.
