Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 (Edgerunners 2) adds Clampdown quest, dual-wield pistols and console mod support

CD Projekt RED has officially rolled out the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 update, Update 2.5, and the studio has announced the free update will be available tomorrow. The patch introduces new story content, gameplay systems and broad platform-focused features.
CD Projekt RED describes Update 2.5 as one of the largest post-launch updates since the game’s DLC, adding brand new story quests, new gameplay mechanics, expanded customization options and multiple quality-of-life changes. The expansion aims to add narrative and mechanical content tied to the Edgerunners anime while also delivering technical updates across platforms.
A newly added side quest, Clampdown, is set before the events of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 anime and sends V into the NCPD headquarters for a high-risk operation after a call from Wakako. King and his crew accompany V during the mission. To trigger the quest players must complete The Heist, finish two gigs for Wakako and then wait for her message.
Completing Clampdown awards a five-piece gear set inspired by King, who is one of the anime’s featured characters in Season 2. The update links in-game rewards directly to the Edgerunners tie-in characters introduced in the anime season referenced by the update notes.
Update 2.5 adds a new Double Trouble perk within the Cool skill tree that enables dual-wielding of certain pistols and revolvers; No. Update 2.5 only allows players to dual-wield Power Pistols and Revolvers through the Double Trouble perk. The patch also references a new Akimbo playstyle (Dual Wield pistols) in its feature list.
Character customization options have been expanded with the introduction of Glamdocs, vendors that allow modification of cyberware such as Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and Projectile Launch Systems. The update also brings new outfits and hairstyles, Photo Mode additions and a new radio station.
Technical and platform features include cross-platform mod support, mod support on console (including new quests), an FOV slider on console and DLSS 4.5 support, according to the full Update 2.5 patch notes posted on Steam. The Steam notes list Clampdown, dual-wielding pistols, Glamdocs, new outfits, hairstyles, a new radio station, Photo Mode additions, DLSS 4.5 support and cross-platform mod support.
