Day three of the second Test between Sri Lanka and India at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo will begin at 10:00 AM IST on August 25, with the scheduled sessions and breaks confirmed for the day.

India continued their dominance in the second Test, declaring their first innings at 503 for nine after resuming from 300 for five; they then removed two Sri Lankan wickets to close day two. India lost Saransh Jain early after the overnight score, while Rishabh Pant (63), who retired hurt on day one, and Dhruv Jurel (115*) combined in a 112-run partnership that propelled the visitors to a big total.

Jurel reached his second Test century and also put together useful stands with Manav Suthar and Mohammed Siraj before India declared at 503 for nine. Pant fell in the second session, and Jurel remained unbeaten on 115 as India opted to end their innings.

For Sri Lanka, Asitha Fernando finished as the most successful bowler, taking four wickets in India’s first innings. India then produced a quick burst with the ball early in Sri Lanka’s reply: Prasidh Krishna removed Lahiru Udara, and then Manav Suthar took the wicket of Prabath Jayasuriya, leaving Sri Lanka eight for two at stumps and trailing by 495 runs.

There will be an extension of half an hour also to make up for remaining overs. NOTE: Timings subject to change due to weather conditions/match circumstances

The third day of the Sri Lanka vs India second Test will start at 10:00 AM IST on August 25; the match is being played at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
