Delhi Capitals complete 17-player WPL 2027 squad after Kochi auction

Delhi Capitals Women finalised their WPL 2027 squad at the auction held on Wednesday at Grand Hyatt Kochi in Kochi, Kerala, adding four players — Kiran Navgire, Kirstie Gordon, Kashvi Kandikuppa and Nazma Khan — to complete their roster. Jemimah Rodrigues remains captain of the side that went into the auction with remaining slots to fill.
The WPL 2027 auction featured 146 shortlisted players vying to fill 27 available slots across five franchises. Delhi entered the sale with the second-lowest purse of INR 1.10 crore and five vacancies after retaining 13 players and releasing six, including Lizelle Lee, Alana King, Taniyaa Bhatia and Sneh Rana. The Capitals have been runners-up in each of the four previous seasons and, under captain Jemimah Rodrigues, lost last season’s final to Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women.
DC-W made four signings at the mini auction, the same number as Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB); they were the only sides that finished the auction process with 17 players. Those additions bring Delhi’s playing roster to the required complement for WPL 2027.
Delhi targeted the opening slot after releasing Lizelle Lee and secured 32-year-old Kiran Navgire for INR 75 lakh, the highest-paid Indian at the mini auction. The franchise indicated Kiran is likely to open alongside retained batter Laura Wolvaardt for the upcoming season.
With Sneh Rana and Alana King released, Delhi moved to reinforce their spin options by signing Scottish spinner Kirstie Gordon. The acquisition addresses a specific bowling vacancy left by those departures.
The Capitals also invested in youth, signing 15-year-old all-rounder Kashvi Kandikuppa from Karnataka for INR 10 lakh; the report describes her as the youngest pick at the WPL mini auction. Delhi’s other addition at the auction was all-rounder Nazma Khan, completing the quartet of new recruits.
Delhi’s 17-player squad for WPL 2027 reads: Jemimah Rodrigues (c), Marizanne Kapp, Niki Prasad, Laura Wolvaardt, Shafali Verma, Chinelle Henry, Shree Charani, Deeya Yadav, Lucy Hamilton, Nandni Sharma, Minnu Mani, Mamatha Madiwala, Annabel Sutherland, Kiran Navgire, Kashvi Kandikuppa, Kirstie Gordon and Nazma Khan.
The four signings at the WPL 2027 mini auction complete Delhi Capitals Women’s squad of 17 for the tournament, matching RCB’s number of new additions and finalising the group that will contest the upcoming season.
