Dilip Tirkey files police complaint against Hockey India officials and staff

Dilip Tirkey, president of Hockey India, on September 24 filed a police complaint at the DCP, South Delhi office alleging harassment, intimidation and fraud by officials and staff of Hockey India. The complaint was submitted while Tirkey was visiting the national capital, according to the filing.

The complaint comes amid continued Indian on-field success at the Asian Games in Nagoya, a campaign the report says has been affected by off-field administrative disputes. The Hindu published the report on September 25, 2026, with an update at 06:22 pm IST.

Tirkey’s complaint names HI Director B.N. Bhushan, suspended Director General Cdr. R.K. Srivastava, finance manager Subodh Kumar and driver Harminder Singh and seeks the filing of a formal FIR against them, the document shows.

The filing details an incident involving a vehicle that Tirkey had used while travelling on the visit; the complaint alleges the vehicle, which had been arranged by Hockey India, was recalled without informing Tirkey and contained all his personal belongings and documents when it subsequently became unreachable.

The complaint lists several legal grounds for action. “… under relevant provisions for criminal breach of trust, theft, criminal conspiracy, endangerment of life, and wrongful abandonment and request for immediate recovery of stolen assets and documents,” the complaint states.

Both Cdr. R.K. Srivastava and B.N. Bhushan did not respond to queries about the complaint, the report adds.

Dated September 24 and lodged at the DCP, South Delhi office, the complaint asks for a formal FIR to be registered and requests immediate recovery of the alleged stolen assets and documents.
