Dominik Mysterio frustrated by differing presentation on WWE TV and in AAA, report says

Dominik Mysterio is reported to be frustrated with the contrast between his presentation on WWE television and his role in Lucha Libre AAA, according to a False Finish report published on August 9, 2026. The report says Mysterio wants WWE to present him more seriously while he holds AAA’s top championship.

Mysterio is the AAA Mega Champion and is scheduled to defend the World title against El Grande Americano at Triplemania 34 next month. The pay-per-view will run across two nights and Mysterio is being promoted heavily and is expected to be a leading star on the cards.

On WWE programming, Mysterio appears as a member of Judgment Day on Monday Night Raw and recently lost to Danhausen at WWE SummerSlam 2026 in a Human Monies on a Pole match. Fans have expressed frustration at his creative direction on the main roster, particularly after last year’s match in which he defeated John Cena in Cena’s final PLE; Mysterio is not currently involved in a high-profile feud, having wrapped up his storyline with former stablemate Finn Balor.

False Finish quoted sources saying Mysterio is uneasy about the discrepancy between his two roles. "Sources indicate to False Finish that AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio is frustrated with the difference in his booking between WWE and AAA. One source noted that Mysterio believes that he should be booked in a more serious way on WWE TV as he’s currently holding the most important championship in AAA. Mysterio would like to see his character portrayed the same instead of it seeming like he’s 2 separate people on 2 different shows."

Earlier reporting from WrestleVotes Radio in early June said there was internal disappointment over what it described as lackluster creative for both Mysterio and Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. False Finish’s item is the first report to directly link the stated frustration to Mysterio himself.

Triplemania 34 will take place over two nights: Night 1 on September 11 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada, U.S., and Night 2 on September 13 at the Arena CDMX in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico, where Mysterio is scheduled to defend the AAA Mega Championship.
