Twenty-four teams remain in contention in the 135th Durand Cup, with the knockout phase opening with quarter-finals on 16 August 2026 and the final scheduled for 23 August 2026 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata, West Bengal. Eight clubs — six group winners plus the two best second-placed sides — will contest the quarter-final round.

The tournament, the 135th edition of the Durand Cup, began on 25 July 2026 and featured a headline-making Kolkata Derby in its opening fixtures. From the initial 24 entrants, the competition advances six group winners automatically and allows the two best runners-up to complete the eight-team knockout field. Mohun Bagan SG (Group A), SC Delhi (Group C) and FC Raengdai (Group D) were among the earliest teams to secure quarter-final spots.

The six group winners who progressed to the quarter-finals are Mohun Bagan, SC Delhi, Indian Army, NorthEast United FC, Shillong Lajong FC and FC Raengdai. East Bengal FC and Jamshedpur FC clinched the remaining knockout berths as the two best second-placed teams.

Qualification followed the tournament rule that the six group winners earn automatic passage to the knockouts while the best two second-placed teams across the six groups join them, with advancement determined by points and goal difference. East Bengal FC and Jamshedpur FC were identified as the likely second-placed qualifiers, with East Bengal noted as holding six points and a superior goal difference among second-placed sides.

Quarter-final fixtures are scheduled across 16 and 17 August, with matches played at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata and at Birsa Munda Stadium in Ranchi, the latter staging Durand Cup fixtures for the first time this season. Among the confirmed quarter-final pairings is Mohun Bagan Super Giant versus Jamshedpur FC.
