Durand Cup: Mohun Bagan SG thrash South United 8-0

Mohun Bagan Super Giant routed South United 8-0 at the Salt Lake Stadium in Group A of the 135th Durand Cup on Tuesday, recording a second consecutive win in the competition.
The Kolkata side dominated from the outset, scoring as early as the fourth minute and continuing to add goals through to second-half stoppage time; South United, which had opened the tournament with a 2-0 victory over CISF Protectors, were overwhelmed by Bagan's attack. Contributions came from Alberto Rodriguez, Rahul Bheke, an own goal by Noel S., and two late strikes by substitute Suhail Bhat.

Manvir Singh netted three times during the match, while substitute Suhail Bhat struck twice in quick succession near the end of the game, making an immediate impact off the bench.
In Group C at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Ranchi, Sporting Club Delhi came from behind to beat Jamshedpur FC 2-1 after Sanan Mohammed put Jamshedpur ahead in the 22nd minute and debutant Lalrinliana Hnamte scored in the 51st and 56th minutes.
The victory lifted Mohun Bagan to six points from two matches at the top of Group A, with East Bengal and South United on three points from two games. In Group C, Jamshedpur remain top on goal difference, level on three points with SC Delhi, which has played only one match.
