EA Sports FC 27 to add Holographic Cards to Ultimate Team

EA Sports FC is introducing Holographic Cards to Ultimate Team in EA FC 27, which is scheduled to launch on September 25, 2026. The items are cosmetic only and will not change player ratings, attributes or in-game performance, but they will offer premium visual presentation and integrate with the new FUT Gallery progression system.
Holographic Cards are special cosmetic versions of existing Ultimate Team player items, confirmed as arriving alongside autographed variants and multiple rarities. EA Sports has presented them as a visual enhancement rather than a new gameplay tier, with premium animations and upgraded presentation. Every eligible special item, such as Team of the Week cards and promotional player items, will receive a Holographic version. The cards will be made available in packs and across different rarities.
There will be two Holographic variants: a Regular Holographic Card featuring an animated foil effect, and a rarer Pristine Holographic Card that includes additional premium design elements. Pristine editions are noted for having a stylized player name that distinguishes them visually from Regular Holographic Cards. A single player item can exist as only one Holographic variant, meaning a card cannot be both Regular and Pristine at the same time.
Players will be able to obtain Holographic Cards through the same methods used for other Ultimate Team items: opening packs, purchasing on the transfer market and earning them via gameplay. Some FUT Gallery milestone rewards will also provide a chance to grant Holographic items. The Holographic versions are described as less common than standard special items, affecting their availability through those acquisition routes.
Although the Holographic Cards do not alter in-game ratings, stats or attributes, they will contribute a higher score when submitted to a FUT Gallery set and are likely to offer a greater number of collection points than normal special items. That increased collection value can aid players in achieving higher Set Grades and advancing Gallery Levels. The cards are therefore positioned as collectible cosmetics with progression utility rather than performance upgrades.
The report was filed by Mahaksh Chauhan. When EA FC 27 launches on September 25, 2026, Holographic Cards will be part of Ultimate Team’s item pool and can be submitted to the FUT Gallery to increase collection points, helping players pursue higher Set Grades, Gallery Levels and the exclusive rewards tied to those milestones.
