EA Sports FC unveils EA FC 27 ICON class including Agüero, Raphaël Varane, Pepe and Christine Sinclair

EA Sports FC announced the class of EA FC 27 ICONS on August 25, 2026, revealing a new group of legendary players joining the game's Ultimate Team roster, including Sergio Agüero, Raphaël Varane, Pepe and Christine Sinclair.

The company said the EA FC 27 ICON class celebrates players who have made a lasting impact across eras and leagues. Christine Sinclair is cited as the first Canadian footballer to be inducted into the EA Sports FC franchise as an ICON and is described in the announcement as “a widely acknowledged one of the best women footballers of all time.” EA Sports FC noted Sergio Agüero’s addition followed years of fans’ requests, while Pepe and Raphaël Varane were listed among new defensive options for FUT.

EA Sports FC confirmed the following names as the Class of ’27 ICONS: Sergio Agüero, Raphaël Varane, Pepe, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Christine Sinclair, Formiga, Hege Riise, Yūki Nagasato, Tobin Heath and Ellen White.

The publisher also stated that two players previously categorized as Heroes have been upgraded to full ICON status for EA FC 27. Lúcio and Yaya Touré will no longer be Hero cards and have been promoted to ICONs.

The announcement remarks that there will additionally be returning fan-favorite ICONs in EA FC 27, without listing those specific returning cards in the initial release.
