The defending champions set the tone early, with Dani Ramírez opening the scoring in the 8th minute by lifting the ball over Albino Gomes from the right side of the penalty area. PV Vishnu doubled the lead in the 16th minute after a quick counter, arriving at the far post to strike a left-footed shot into the bottom-left corner following a layoff from Loba. In the 22nd minute a penalty was awarded when Wayne Vaz brought down Ramírez inside the box; Loba converted with a right-footed effort into the top-right corner, registering his first goal of the season.
Inter Kashi reduced the deficit in the 28th minute when Lalchungnunga turned the ball into his own net, but East Bengal restored control before half-time as Loba completed his brace to make it 4-1. The sequence before the break left the game decisively in East Bengal’s favour, limiting Inter Kashi’s immediate response opportunities.
Antonio Habas made multiple changes at the start of the second half, withdrawing Rashid, Loba and Vipin Singh to avoid injury concerns and to provide game time for younger players. Lukasz Zwoliński, introduced from the bench, added East Bengal’s fifth in the 81st minute with a left-footed finish into the bottom-left corner from close range after a pass from Christopher Ikonomidis; it was Zwoliński’s first goal in the MG ISL for East Bengal.
