East Bengal to meet Al Hussein in AFC Champions League Two on September 16, 2026
East Bengal FC will play Al Hussein SC on Wednesday, 16 September 2026 at the Amman International Stadium in Amman, Jordan in the AFC Champions League Two Group Stage, their next scheduled fixture after qualifying for the competition.
East Bengal enter the continental campaign as the Indian Super League 2025-26 winners under Oscar Bruzon and fresh Durand Cup 2026 champions under new head coach Antonio Lopez Habas; the Durand Cup victory ended a 22-year wait since their last title in 2004 when Chandan Das scored a brace. The club secured the Durand Cup by defeating Mohun Bagan in the final.
In the ACL Two draw East Bengal were placed in Group D alongside Al Hussein SC, Al Shorta SC and Al Seeb Club, and will meet each opponent home and away in a double round-robin format. That format requires six group matches in total, three at home and three away for East Bengal.
East Bengal reached the ACL Two Group Stage after beating Kuwaiti side Al-Arabi SC 4-1 at home in a match that went to extra time, with MD Rashid, Rohit Danu and David Himar scoring in extra time to settle the tie. The victory confirmed their place in the group phase.
The ACL Two Group Stage is scheduled to begin on 15 September 2026 and conclude on 9 December 2026; the tournament's Round of 16 matches are set to take place between 9 February and 18 February 2027, with the final designated for 15 May 2027. East Bengal will therefore play their six group fixtures within that 15 September–9 December window.
The ISL 2026-27 season is likely to start on 10 October 2026, with East Bengal entering that domestic campaign as the defending champions. After their opening ACL Two match, East Bengal are scheduled to host Al Shorta SC on 13 October at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan (VYBK).
East Bengal's immediate next game is the Group D opener against Al Hussein SC on 16 September 2026 in Amman, Jordan; following that match they will return home to host Al Shorta SC on 13 October at VYBK as part of the ACL Two group programme.
