Edinburgh top URC after bonus-point win over Zebre

Edinburgh moved to the top of the United Rugby Championship with a bonus-point victory at Zebre on 10 October 2026. The result made it three wins from three for Sean Everitt's injury-hit side.
James Grayson opened the scoring for the visitors with a penalty before Zebre went ahead when winger Malelili Satala was sin-binned for a deliberate knock-on and Italy scrum-half Alessandro Fusco touched down for the game's first try. Edinburgh regained the lead on the half-hour mark when centre Matt Currie crashed through a couple of defenders to score.
Fusco was shown yellow shortly before half-time and, from the resulting attack, young flanker Freddy Douglas finished at the back of an Edinburgh maul. From that moment, Edinburgh never ceded control.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with the Scottish side dominating both possession and territory. Magnus Bradbury powered over under the posts to register Edinburgh's third try.
Edinburgh replacement hooker Harri Morris was yellow-carded, after which Zebre's Giacamo Ferrari narrowed the deficit. In the final minute, another powerful maul produced Edinburgh's fourth try when Tom Currie grounded the ball.
