Efficacy, Seize The Grey, Preview and Maana impressed when exercised at Bengaluru on the morning of Friday, Sept. 18. The session comprised timed work over 600m, 1,000m, 1,200m and 1,400m distances.
Several horses produced notable 600m efforts early in the session; Siege Storm (Antony) covered the trip in 38 seconds and Xanthe (Shreyas) in 40, with Siege Storm described as having strode out well and Xanthe noted as pushed.
A second set of 600m drills featured Wanganui (Antony) 42, with the report stating he worked well; Zeitgeist (Ranjeet) 43 moved well; Spirited Light (Antony) 44 strode out well; Shining Path (Arul) 42.5 was described as in fine trim; and Bright Thunder (R. Pradeep) 43 shaped well.
In the 1,000m bracket Blue Picasso (rb) recorded 1-14 with a 600m split of 42 and was noted as stretched; Mandalay (Aleemuddin) and Whistling Glory (Antony) each posted 1-11 with 600/42 and were described as having moved impressively; Preview (Ranjeet) covered 1,000m in 1-12.5 with a 600/41.5 and was reported in fine trim; Royal Tribute (Reza) and Aidenn (rb) both recorded 1-15 with 600/45, the former described as easy and the latter as pleased.
Over 1,200m Waitara (Antony) returned 1-29 with intermediate splits of 1,000/1-14 and 600/44 and was listed as impressed; Star Comet (Reza) and Mystic Dew (Shinde) each recorded 1-31 with a (1,200-600) split of 43 and were said to have moved on the bit.
At 1,400m Theos (Shreyas) posted 1-41 with intermediate splits of 1,200/1-26, 1,000/1-12.5 and 600/45.5 and was described as in fine trim; Seize The Grey (Salman) covered 1,400m in 1-37 with 1,200/1-24, 1,000/1-11 and 600/44.5 and was noted to have responded well to the urgings; Efficacy (Shreyas) returned 1-39 with 1,200/1-24, 1,000/1-10.5 and 600/42 and was reported to have moved fluently; Speed Company (Salman) recorded 1-46.5 with (1,400-600) 57.5 and was eased up.
