James Trafford (6) made a good save in the second half, was calm with the ball at his feet and showed a passing range that pleased Tuchel throughout. Trent Alexander-Arnold (7) started his first England game for nearly two years and produced a great ball for the opener. Trevoh Chalobah (6) had a shaky start, lost possession a couple of times and lost out in challenges which frustrated manager Thomas Tuchel, but settled to help England keep a clean sheet against a 10-man Czech Republic. Marc Guehi (6) delivered a reliable display and made a couple of important blocks. Lewis Hall (7) combined well with Anthony Gordon, offered a strong outlet down the left and was a threat going forward, even shouldering an opportunity he ought to have finished in the second half.
Elliot Anderson (7) dominated midfield, kept the ball moving and won possession back on the few occasions the Czech Republic ventured forward. Myles Lewis-Skelly (6) started brightly and played a central role in England's build-up before being booked for a mistimed tackle and substituted at half-time. Morgan Rogers (6) threaded a pass through to Bukayo Saka and struck the post twice while facing a Czech side defending deep. Bukayo Saka (6) had little to note in a cagey match as England laboured to break down the defence prior to Gordon's goal. Anthony Gordon (8) was a constant threat in behind, delivered a dangerous first-half cross and scored the opener, continuing to show his growing importance for the Three Lions. Harry Kane (7) had a quieter night, dropped deep to seek the ball but still scored with a good finish inside the area in the second half.
Eberechi Eze (on 46 for Lewis-Skelly) was credited with adding a spark to midfield and was rated 6. Jude Bellingham (on 70 for Kane) took the captain's armband and led the line, also rated 6. Alex Scott (on 70 for Anderson) made his England debut and received a 6; Rio Ngumoha (on 71 for Saka) was noted for his intent to go forward and was given a 6; Morgan Gibbs-White (on 81 for Gordon) was rated 6.
