The charge, filed on July 31, relates to an allegation of assault causing actual bodily harm and was confirmed by the Metropolitan Police, which said no further details would be provided at this stage. Toney currently plays for Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli after moving from Brentford, where he helped the club earn promotion to the Premier League and scored 36 goals in 85 top-flight appearances.
