Epic Games adds Treasure Hunting Sprites to Fortnite in new mini-season

Epic Games introduced Treasure Hunting Sprites into Fortnite with the game's new mini-season, adding companion Sprites to matches as part of the update.
The new system includes 35 Sprites in total, comprising 13 base Sprites and 22 special variants, and the companions appear in four rarity tiers: Mythic, Legendary, Epic and Rare. Sprites grant distinct abilities that can boost movement, combat, exploration, healing and loot collection, which the source says can greatly increase a player's chances of survival in a match.
The 13 base Sprite official names are Kelper, Treasure Map, Chester, Sweet Dreams, Lil' Squibbly, Lil Uzi Vert Jr., Lil' Flacko, Halfpeel'd, Re-pete, Transponder Snail, Compass, Plundarrgh and Baarry O'Fish.
Special variants include Jeweled and Cursed types, and Epic Games has also introduced Fortune and Cursed versions for most base Sprites. Those Fortune and Cursed versions are revealed in nearby chests, and Fortune Sprite variants reveal nearby Chests, making it easier to locate valuable loot.
The Cursed Sprite variant increases the chances of finding the rare Sprite in a match but carries a drawback: the player will take damage whenever they remain in water. The source highlights this trade-off between enhanced rarity discovery and an environmental penalty.
Among the roster, the Mythic Plundarrgh and Sweet Dreams Sprites are identified as the rarest available.
