Mohun Bagan beat Punjab FC 2-1 at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata in the Indian Super League on Saturday, 31 October 2026. The victory pushed Mohun Bagan to the top of the 2026-27 ISL table.

The Mariners fell behind inside three minutes when Alfred Planas put Punjab FC ahead in the third minute. Lee Erwin levelled for Mohun Bagan in the 18th minute with a clean finish, and Dejan Drazic struck in the 42nd minute to give the hosts the lead; Drazic’s strike was his first ISL goal for the Mariners. Neither side scored in the second half, allowing Mohun Bagan to collect all three points and end Punjab FC’s unbeaten run in the 2026-27 ISL.

Erwin’s 18th-minute equaliser was his first goal at the Salt Lake Stadium, scored in thrilling fashion with a clean finish that proves how good a goal-scorer he is. The strike changed the momentum in Kolkata and restored parity after the early setback.

Dejan Drazic headed into the Punjab FC clash without any goals in the last three ISL games for Mohun Bagan. He produced a much more decisive display, scoring a well-taken goal in the 42nd minute to put the Mariners ahead before half-time.

The contest was a pretty equal, hard-fought effort from both sets of players and ultimately decided by small margins. All of the Mohun Bagan foreign players were crucial to breaking Punjab FC’s control and enabling the comeback, a display that the report described as showing strong character under Panagiotis Dilmperis.

The three points move Mohun Bagan to the top of the 2026-27 ISL table and extend their winning run in the early part of the campaign, while Punjab FC saw their unbeaten start to the season come to an end.
