ESFI names Team India squads for BRICS Esports Championship and Global Esports Games 2026
On August 8, 2026, the Esports Federation of India (ESFI) announced the final Indian contingents for the BRICS Esports Championship 2026 in Moscow and the Global Esports Games 2026 in Los Angeles, following the conclusion of the National Esports Championships (NESC) 2026.
The National Esports Championships, which concluded on August 5, 2026, served as India’s official selection tournament, bringing together the country’s top esports athletes to earn the right to represent India at the two multi-title international events.
For the BRICS Esports Championship, scheduled for September 9–15 at the VK Play Arena in Moscow and organised by the Russian Esports Federation, India will field a two-member TEKKEN 8 contingent: national champion Arsalan Wani, who secured his berth by winning the NESC BRICS qualifier, and Gurashish Singh, the winner of NESC 2026 (Asian Games). In the BRICS qualifier, Shubham finished as first runner-up and Ashish claimed the second runner-up position.
ESFI confirmed Team India’s roster for the Global Esports Games in Los Angeles and said the squad will compete across PC, console and mobile titles. The federation also stated that India will not field a contingent in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) in adherence to directives issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
In Counter-Strike 2, Diamond Dogs earned the national berth after defeating Friedup Gaming in the Grand Final; the Counter-Strike 2 squad is Ritesh Sarda (Captain), Hrishikesh Shenoy, Gourav Panwar, Garvit Nehra and Yash Kumar Singh.
Clash Royale (Open) saw Devershi Kumar Kulhara finish as champion, with Heer Chawda and Mohamed Rizal S as the next two finishers, while Shagun Srivastava won the Women’s category ahead of Nikita S. India’s NBA 2K contingent comprises Shubham Sharma (Captain), Ashutosh Kumar and Sumer Singh Sandhu; the Rocket League team is Abhai Ponna (Captain), Jayanth Engineer and Aditeya Amol Srivastav.
In iRacing (Ferrari), Yashwanth Babu topped the standings, followed by Aditya Iyer and Ankit Raj, and Chinmay Sahoo has been awarded the eFootball Open category slot as the Winner of the NESC 2026 (Asian Games).
Team India will compete at the BRICS Esports Championship 2026 in Moscow from September 9–15 and at the Global Esports Games 2026 in Los Angeles, carrying the squads named by ESFI after the NESC 2026 selection process.
