Estêvão and Samuel Lino star as Brazil beat India 4-0 in Kolkata

Brazil defeated India 4-0 in an international friendly at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Saturday, with Estêvão and Samuel Lino among the scorers for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Ancelotti’s team controlled large parts of the match, with technical quality and attacking depth proving decisive against India, who struggled to contain Brazil’s forward players while the visitors remained defensively disciplined to secure a clean sheet.
Estêvão opened the scoring in the 28th minute and Pedro doubled Brazil’s lead shortly before half-time; after the break substitute Samuel Lino scored in the 58th minute and added a second deep into stoppage time. Lino’s two goals were his first for his nation at senior international level.
Pedro Morisco made his Brazil debut in goal, completed the full 90 minutes and was the only Brazil starter to remain on the pitch for the entire match; he produced composed saves when called upon as India failed to fashion clear opportunities.
On the right, Matheuzinho contributed to the attacking build-up before being replaced by Vanderson at half-time, while Douglas Santos provided stability on the left in the opening 45 and was replaced at the interval by Gabriel Magalhães. Making his Brazil debut in central defence, Arthur Dias helped the side keep a clean sheet before making way for Mauro Júnior in the 60th minute, and Jair Cunha came on for Marquinhos in the 60th minute.
Estêvão continued to trouble India with his movement and direct running, adding an assist before being withdrawn in the 67th minute for Breno Bidon. Pedro, in his first start for Brazil, scored and later set up Lino’s third goal before leaving the field for Endrick in the 61st minute; Vinícius Júnior began on the left but was replaced by Samuel Lino at half-time.
Ancelotti made a number of second-half changes to maintain control: Bruno Guimarães replaced Danilo at the break, Douglas Luiz came on for Gabriel Bontempo at half-time, Mauro Júnior slotted into the defence, Vanderson supplied energy down the right and Martinelli replaced Andrey Santos in the 61st minute to add attacking pace.
