Europa League: Bournemouth extend perfect start as Milan beaten at San Siro

On 5 November 2026 in the Europa League group stage, Bournemouth defeated Sparta Prague 3-1 in Prague and Milan were beaten 2-0 at home by Ferencvaros at the San Siro.
Bournemouth, managed by Marco Rose, extended their winning run to seven matches and made it four victories from four in the club’s debut European campaign; the result in the Czech capital leaves them well placed to secure direct passage to the last 16. The visitors were tested during the match and had previously gone six straight wins without conceding before the first-half strike against them.
Bournemouth fell behind in the first half when Gambian forward Ebrima Singhateh produced a piece of individual brilliance to put Sparta in front, after Lewis Cook had earlier missed a chance to give Bournemouth the lead when his penalty struck the post. Minutes after taking the lead, Sparta were reduced to 10 men when Tobias Guddal picked up a second yellow card within two minutes of the goal.
The visitors responded after the red card, levelling in the 57th minute when Tyler Adams smashed a loose ball into the bottom corner. Evanilson then put Bournemouth ahead with an 81st-minute effort finished low across the goalkeeper, and Rayan added a third at the death to make the final score 3-1.
At the San Siro, Ferencvaros won 2-0 to maintain a 100% record in Europe, with Haiti international Lenny Joseph striking twice in the second half. Ferencvaros earned what the report described as a deserved victory over the seven-time European champions despite Bamidele Yusuf being sent off for the visitors.
Milan are left languishing outside the top 24 with just three points at the halfway stage of the league phase, while Bournemouth and Ferencvaros sit on perfect records in the group with four wins from four and will aim to consolidate their positions as the competition moves into the second half of the group stage.
