FC Goa and SC Delhi played out a 1-1 draw in the Indian Super League at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa on Wednesday, 28 October, 2026, with Juan Pena opening the scoring in the 51st minute and Alex Vallejo equalising in the 95th.

The match was largely uneventful in the first half before the second half produced most of the action, described by the report as a game of two halves. Vallejo’s late equaliser earns us a point at home. pic.twitter.com/PPyVe0MFls

FC Goa generated a number of openings and winger Muhammed Nemil was frequently involved in the build-up; the 24-year-old, playing his fifth ISL season, completed three dribbles but failed to convert chances and gave away possession on several occasions. Nemil had three goal involvements in the 2025-26 campaign, and the report noted his final product against SC Delhi was below expectation, with his shots not testing the goalkeeper effectively.

SC Delhi coach Tomasz Tchorz made a late substitution, replacing the seemingly injured Brazilian forward Rodriguinho with Ashutosh Mehta, and the change produced significant late-game controversy. Because Rodriguinho took longer than the newly implemented 10-second substitution rule allows, Mehta was initially prevented from entering the pitch and then had to remain off the field for one minute, leaving SC Delhi defending a set-piece with 10 men and giving Vallejo space to score the equaliser.

FC Goa’s new summer signings Chiki and Franchu were unable to form the expected attacking partnership, with Chiki neutralised by SC Delhi’s centre-backs and failing to reach the end of prominent chances. Franchu had a stronger showing, providing the assist for the late equaliser, but the pair did not consistently combine to trouble the opposition backline.

SC Delhi adopted a conservative approach early on, recording only one shot on target in the first half, before increasing pressing and counter-attacking intensity after the break. The visitors scored the opener by capitalising on a mistake by Udanta Singh, then appeared to sit on that lead for much of the remainder of the match until the stoppage-time equaliser.

The draw left both FC Goa and SC Delhi with one point from the ISL fixture.
