Football Manager 27 deep dive details expanded manager creator, customization and accessibility

Sports Interactive, credited alongside SEGA, published a Football Manager 27 deep dive on 2026-10-16 that outlined an expanded manager creator, broader customization and multiple accessibility and visual updates.
The update says the manager creator now offers greater personalisation and improved representation options, allowing users to build a character resembling themselves or a wholly original persona. It lists more body flexibility, additional ethnicity choices, new facial features, more detailed skin options and new facial hair styles, alongside upgraded hair physics intended to make hair appear more natural in-game and in cutscenes.
Clothing and appearance options have been widened with new shirts, jumpers, scarves, gloves, woollen hats and baseball caps added to the wardrobe, and the colour picker has been reinstated to allow more flexible clothing customisation. The Favourite Club option has returned, with managers able to select up to four favourite clubs before beginning a career.
The deep dive introduces wheelchair-using managers, specifying the option to create a manager who uses an electric-powered wheelchair; this choice is reflected across menus, in matchday cutscenes and during podium celebrations, with podiums redesigned for accessibility. Sports Interactive said these changes follow community feedback.
Interface accessibility adjustments include renaming display scaling to Small, Medium, and Large and increasing font sizes throughout the interface to improve readability; the update describes these as scaling enhancements for QHD and 4K resolution. The company emphasised these settings were adjusted in response to player input.
Visual improvements to Future Wonderkids—referred to as Newgen in the deep dive—include upgraded skin textures, lighting, hair quality and colourisation to make portraits more distinct and realistic. The developers noted Newgen profiles should now feel more unique compared with previous iterations.
The studio indicated the next deep dive will focus on gameplay improvements, including upgrades to the 2D Match Engine and the In-Game Editor, and advised readers they can read more in depth on the official website.
