Football Manager 27 deep dive unveils redesigned UI and revamped navigation

Sega and Sports Interactive released a Football Manager 27 gameplay deep dive on September 23, 2026, offering the first in-game look at a redesigned interface and navigation system. The developer presentation concentrated on quality-of-life and user-interface improvements rather than core gameplay mechanics.

The video highlighted a revamped navigation layout that places primary and secondary menus across the top of the screen, intended to simplify movement between sections such as Squad, Tactics, Recruitment, Training and Club. Menus have been overhauled with many pop-up windows replaced by full-screen pages so players can browse information without opening or closing separate windows. The deep dive framed these changes as part of an effort to make team management faster and more intuitive.

Sports Interactive detailed substantial changes to the in-game inbox, saying messages will now display useful information directly inside the box. The studio demonstrated the ability to view scout reports directly from a message and to view and manage transfer offers without leaving the inbox. Messages will also be color-coded to help distinguish urgent items from other communications during busy periods.

Further interface adjustments shown include an updated top bar and portal screens, a returning competition screen and landing screen updates, alongside configurable shortcuts and button mapping. The presentation also showcased customizable elements such as an updated, customisable portal screen and options for creating shortcuts and bookmarks.

Accessibility and display scaling received attention: Sports Interactive said the interface will automatically scale and adjust across high-resolution 4K monitors and laptops, with additional scaling options available. The studio demonstrated customizable keyboard shortcuts, drag-and-drop bookmarks and other user controls intended to increase personalization and ease of navigation.

This release was labeled the first gameplay deep dive, and Sports Interactive confirmed additional developer updates will follow in the coming months. The studio said future updates will cover the redesigned match interface and a mix of new, improved and returning features.
