Forca Kochi beat Calicut FC 3-0 at EMS Corporation Stadium in Round 5 of Super League Kerala 2026

Forca Kochi FC defeated Calicut FC 3-0 at the EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in the second game of the Round 5 fixtures of the 2026-27 Super League Kerala, handing Calicut their first loss of the campaign. Rahul Raju scored twice and Alan Saji added a goal as Forca Kochi moved to the top of the table with 11 points.
The match was played under persistent downpours that left parts of the pitch waterlogged, with ankle-deep water in Kochi’s half disrupting the flow of play and neutralising Calicut’s midfield build-up. Both sides still produced early opportunities despite the conditions, but the surface increasingly shaped how the game developed. Forca Kochi adjusted to the damp pitch more effectively, using the flanks to create chances.
Calicut fashioned an early dead-ball opening in the third minute when Elitton Junior floated a free-kick into the box, but Harshal Rahman’s header lacked the power to trouble the defence. Forca Kochi’s breakthrough arrived in the 37th minute after Rahul Raju surged down the left and delivered a pinpoint cross that Alan Saji converted past the goalkeeper.
Calicut almost levelled two minutes later when Boasso unlocked the Kochi defence and supplied captain Prashanth, whose thunderous strike beat the keeper but rebounded off the post and away from danger. Kochi entered the interval holding a 1-0 lead.
Calicut responded at the restart by bringing on Leo David and Jobin to freshen their attack, but the contest swung in the 51st minute when goalkeeper Mirshad K rushed out of his penalty box and brought down a goal-bound Alan Saji, earning a straight red card and leaving the hosts with ten men. The reduced side continued to press for an equaliser despite the numerical disadvantage.
The visitors extended their lead as the match wore on: in the 73rd minute Leo David met a Boasso cross with a header that drifted just wide, and in the 80th minute Diego Hernandez supplied Rahul Raju, who tucked away the second. Play was briefly stopped because of fading stadium lights; immediately after play resumed Raju struck again to complete his brace and make it 3-0.
The final fixture of Round 5 will see Malappuram FC face Kannur Warriors FC on Monday, October 26, at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30 PM IST.
