Forca Kochi sign 38-year-old goalkeeper Debjit Majumder ahead of Super League Kerala season

Forca Kochi FC have signed 38-year-old goalkeeper Debjit Majumder ahead of the upcoming Super League Kerala (SLK) season, Khel Now reported on 23 August 2026. The move bolsters the club’s goalkeeping options as they prepare for the next SLK campaign.

Debjit Majumder began his professional career with United Sikkim before moving to Kalighat Milan in 2011. He moved on to East Bengal and Bhawanipore FC the following year and later represented ATK, ATK Mohun Bagan, Mumbai City FC and Chennaiyin FC. Majumder subsequently returned to East Bengal FC in the Indian Super League during his career.

Across domestic league competitions, Majumder has made 86 appearances in the Indian Super League (ISL) and 47 appearances in the Indian Football League (earlier known as the I-League). He has also played in domestic cup competitions, registering multiple appearances in the Durand Cup, Super Cup and the Federation Cup.

On the continental stage Majumder’s record includes 3 appearances in the AFC Cup, 2 appearances in AFC Champions League Qualification and 1 appearance in AFC Cup Qualifiers. These listings reflect his involvement in Asian club competitions.

Majumder’s honours include winning the Indian Super League once, the I-League twice and the Federation Cup once. The Bengal-born goalkeeper’s trophy record spans multiple levels of Indian football.

Khel Now noted that, despite his experience, Majumder “has not featured in a lot of games the past season and is injury prone due to his age.” The report added that his years in Indian football could be of assistance to Forca Kochi, while cautioning that the outcome of the transfer remains to be seen.
