Former West Brom midfielder Quevin Castro dies after collapsing in Lisbon friendly

Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Quevin Castro, 25, died after collapsing during the first half of Real Sport Clube's pre-season friendly against Estrela de Amadora at the Estadio das Seixas in Lisbon on Saturday. The Lisbon Football Association (AFL) said Castro "passed away this morning during the pre-season friendly".
Real Sport Clube said the midfielder was a "beloved member of our sporting family" and added: "Quevin Castro was much more than just a player; he was an integral part of our family, leaving an indelible mark on all those who knew him."
Castro joined West Brom in 2021 and made his debut for the club against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup. His second appearance for the club came against Swansea later that season, before he joined Burton Albion on loan.
A former Sporting Clube academy product, Castro appeared for several sides in England, including Cambridge City, York City and Notts County, before returning to Portugal last summer.
West Brom said they were "devastated" by the news.
They will pay tribute to the midfielder with a period of applause in the 25th minute of their Championship fixture against Burnley on Sunday, and will wear black armbands.
