Four candidates, including former India hockey captain Sardar Singh and badminton player B Sumeeth Reddy, were dropped from the IOA SOM election race following scrutiny of nominations ahead of the November 9 vote.

The move reduced the field from 27 to 23, with an 80-member electoral college set to elect eight representatives to the IOA General Assembly.
