Francesca Hennessy in talks to challenge Dina Thorslund for undisputed bantamweight title in UK

Francesca Hennessy is in talks to challenge undisputed bantamweight world champion Dina Thorslund in the United Kingdom in November or December, BBC Sport understands. Boxxer has offered Thorslund close to $250,000 (£183,000) to travel to the UK for the potential fight.
Hennessy, the 21-year-old daughter of promoter Mick Hennessy, made her professional debut in September 2023 and is the WBC's number one ranked challenger. A win would make her the youngest undisputed world champion in four-belt history and would see her surpass Gabriela Fundora's record of 22 years and 218 days. Hennessy turns 22 on 20 October.
She stopped Aurora de Persio in May for her second stoppage win in nine bouts, ending that contest in the sixth round. The result was Hennessy's most recent stoppage victory since turning professional.
Her promoter, Ben Shalom, confirmed an offer had been made, telling BBC Sport: "I can confirm we have made Dina Thorslund an offer that we believe represents the highest payday of her career to come to the UK and face Francesca Hennessy." He added: "Fran is one of the most exciting young fighters in the sport and has the opportunity to make history by becoming the youngest-ever undisputed world champion. This would be a huge fight, and we're very keen to make it happen."
Thorslund, 32, claimed the WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF titles by defeating Cherneka Johnson in August. Just over a year earlier she had relinquished her WBC and WBO belts after becoming pregnant.
Thorslund's manager, Lee Eaton, confirmed to BBC Sport they are in talks with Hennessy's representatives and said: "Boxxer knows what gets the fight made. Let's see if they can come up with the money and broadcaster deal." BBC Sport has also contacted Thorslund's promoters, Most Valuable Promotions, for comment.
Negotiations remain under way over the financial offer and a broadcaster deal for a proposed UK date in November or December as discussions continue between Hennessy's camp and Thorslund's team.
