FromSoftware pushes The Duskbloods to 2027 as final gameplay work continues

FromSoftware has delayed The Duskbloods, its Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, to 2027, the studio announced on The Duskbloods’ official X account on Oct. 30, 2026. The title had previously been scheduled for release at the end of 2026.
According to the developers, the game is in the final stage of development but requires additional polishing before launch. FromSoftware said it needs extra time to fine-tune the gameplay system and to ensure the multiplayer system is smooth and meets the company’s standards. Rather than rushing, the studio will use the delay to refine core game elements and fix bugs reported during the closed network test.
The team identified specific areas for improvement during the closed network test and will work on combat mechanics and overall game balance. Developers also plan to deepen strategic options and expand avenues for player expression. The studio framed these changes as necessary refinements rather than last-minute additions.
The network test, the studio said, showed that there was a high degree of interest in the game’s core systems, but more work was required to make them as “refined” as possible ahead of the launch. Feedback from that test supplied bug reports the developers intend to address during the extended development window. The studio emphasized smoothing multiplayer interactions as a priority.
The Duskbloods is confirmed as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive and is described as a PvPvE multiplayer action game featuring multiple character classes, cooperative gameplay, and competitive battles. FromSoftware reiterated that those modes remain central to the title’s design while the team polishes mechanics and balance. The studio did not provide new specifics on feature changes beyond the general areas targeted for improvement.
No exact release date has been given; the only scheduling information released is that the game is targeted for some point in 2027. FromSoftware said it will continue development through the delay to complete the final gameplay adjustments and prepare the multiplayer systems for launch.
