Fulham agree £30m deal for Shea Charles as Trevoh Chalobah joins Como for £25.7m
Fulham have agreed a £30m deal to sign Southampton midfielder Shea Charles, who is expected to sign a five-year contract at Craven Cottage once a medical and legal formalities are completed, and Trevoh Chalobah has completed a move from Chelsea to Como for an initial £25.7m, sources reported on August 9, 2026.
Charles, a 22-year-old Northern Ireland international and a breakout player in the Championship last season, will join Fulham after the club agreed an initial fee of £26m with a further £4m in performance-related add-ons. The size of the fee is believed to have deterred alternative interest from Leeds. Charles played 2,000 minutes in the Championship as Southampton reached the playoffs before being excluded amid revelations of spying against opponents, and he is expected to be given a leading midfield role following the sale of Saša Lukić to Ipswich earlier in the weekend.
Trevoh Chalobah’s move to Como was confirmed in a deal worth an initial £25.7m, with terms for a five-year contract agreed last week and the transfer announced on Sunday. Chalobah said: “It’s an ambitious, rising project, and working with Cesc Fàbregas again is truly special. I can’t wait to bring my experience to the team, feel the incredible atmosphere at the stadium, and connect with the fans.” The club’s head coach Cesc Fàbregas added: “Trevoh is a leader who can raise the level of the team, and I am very happy that he has chosen Como.” The pair overlapped at Stamford Bridge towards the end of Fàbregas’s time playing in England.
Gustavo Hamer has completed a return to Coventry from Sheffield United for a fee of £6m plus add-ons, reuniting with the Sky Blues after leaving for a £15m move two years earlier.
