Fury v Joshua confirmed for 11 December at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will meet at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on 11 December after a deal was agreed, organisers announced.

Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and president of the Saudi Boxing Federation, revealed the bout with the tagline: “Years in the making. One night to settle it.” He said his The Ring will work with promoter Dana White and that the fight will be streamed globally on Netflix at no additional cost, describing it as one of the biggest fights in British boxing history.

Alalshikh said: “Two of the best heavyweights of this generation, finally in the ring together. This will be one of the biggest fights in boxing history, I am very happy to make this fight happen for the fans.”

It had appeared doubtful whether agreement would ever be reached for Britain’s two most high-profile boxers to settle a rivalry that has until now been played out in words, with much speculation over the potential venue.

British boxing fans will be able to watch the event on home soil, and both fighters have held multiple world titles during their careers.

Anthony Joshua enters the fight with a 30-4 win-loss record, while Tyson Fury has 36 wins, two losses and a draw.

Both Fury and Joshua will take part in a press conference on 30 September at British Airways Arc in London.
