Game Informer unveils 14-page GTA 6 feature with new cover, screenshots and weather details

Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI is the subject of Game Informer’s latest issue, published on September 26, 2026, which carries a 14-page exclusive on the title and newly revealed material from the studio.
The cover story includes 12 new exclusive screenshots alongside cover artwork, and features interviews with several of Rockstar Games’ lead designers about the development of GTA VI’s world. Game Informer details Leonida, a fictional state inspired by Florida and the iconic city of Vice City, and reports new gameplay information including an advanced weather system that simulates Florida’s less sunny weather phenomena. A brand-new cover art, designed by Rockstar Games, features the characters Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, and "It's hoped the art will turn into a long-term collectible for GTA loyalists."
Game Informer spoke with several of Rockstar's lead designers about the studio's thinking behind the game's world creation. Developers described the extent of research undertaken to capture Florida's atmosphere, culture and visual identity and how much attention was given to Leonida and Vice City. The feature outlines how those design choices were applied to the game's environments and citizenry.
The magazine presents previously unshared gameplay details, among them an advanced weather system intended to reproduce Florida’s wild weather rather than only sunny beaches. Leonida is also described as teeming with wildlife animals that can be found on land, water, and in the air, with the article stating this contributes to "giving the player a sense of once again living a full life." These elements are shown alongside developer commentary in the feature.
Readers can expect 12 never-before-seen screenshots that showcase additional locations, environments and citizens from GTA 6. Those images appear in the 14-page exclusive together with the new artwork and the interviews to provide a broader view of the game's settings. The magazine frames the visuals as part of its in-depth look at GTA VI's world-building.
The digital edition of Game Informer carrying the GTA 6 coverage will be available on September 29, 2026; physical copies will be delivered to subscribers and arrive in stores in the weeks that follow. Khel Now reported the details and said it will provide further updates on GTA VI as new information is released.
