Garaga-Roy advance to men's doubles second round at Korea Masters

Krishna Prasad Garaga and Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy defeated Chaloempon Charoenkitamorn and Worrapol Thongsa-Nga at the Korea Masters Super 300 in Asan on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

The Indian duo progressed to the men's doubles second round. They were unseeded while their Thai opponents were the sixth seeds, and Garaga and Roy prevailed in straight games, 21-16, 21-18, in a match that lasted 42 minutes.

Another Indian men's doubles pairing, Achutaditya Rao Doddavarapu and Arjun Reddy Pochana, were eliminated in the opening round. They lost 3-21, 10-21 to Sol Gyu Choi of Korea and Malaysia's V Shem Goh, ending their run in the draw.

In women's doubles, Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Minshra were beaten by second seeds Ririna Hiramoto and Kokona Ishikawa of Japan, 15-21, 13-21. The straight-games defeat knocked them out of the tournament.

In men's singles qualifying, Tushar Suveer won his opening match against Shaurya Gullaiya of Canada, 21-15, 21-12, but was then defeated by Shogo Ogawa of Japan, 10-21, 17-21, in the following round. Those results ended Suveer's run in the qualifiers.

Garaga and Roy will next face the winner of the match between Singapore's Junsuke Kubo and Jia Hao Howin Wong and Korea's Young Hyuk Kim and Tae Yang Shin to determine their second-round opponents.
