Barcelona midfielder Gavi dyed his hair bright pink after Spain won the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, following a 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina at the New York New Jersey stadium. He had promised before the tournament that he would tint his hair pink if Spain were champions.

After the final, Gavi went directly to a hairdresser and posted two photographs of his new look on Instagram. He captioned the photos, "A man who keeps his word." His hairdresser accompanied the post with details of the makeover.

The player did not hesitate to chop his hair, lighten it, and colour it pink. Lamine Yamal reacted in the comments by dropping laughing and sobbing emojis. The hairdresser shared the transformation on social media with the caption: GAVI CUMPLE SU PROMESA Y SE TIΓ‘E DE ROSA πŸ’‡πŸΌπŸ¦„ πŸŽ₯ @sanrothebarber pic.twitter.com/knsvKRn1Nw

Gavi has a few days left on vacation before returning to Barcelona. He returns from the World Cup with a new appearance and the intention of taking his form into the coming season as the Catalan side will defend the title in the new campaign. The midfielder will be hoping for an injury-free season after spending the previous term sidelined with an ACL injury.

He is scheduled to report to the training camp on August 12th, like his national team colleagues, to begin preparations for the new season.
